How to Choose the Right Cow Brush?
Selecting cow brushes requires considering herd size, animal age group, mounting location, and barn electrical supply.
Step 1
Herd headcount ratio
Plan for approximately 50 to 60 cows per automatic brush to avoid crowding and ensure equal access for all animals.
Step 2
Mounting location and space
Install brushes in open traffic areas away from feed alleys and parlor exits to prevent traffic bottlenecks.
Step 3
Pendulum vs stationary design
Choose flexible swinging units (such as ExtraBrush) to allow cows to reach backs, flanks, and heads at natural angles.
Step 4
Power and switch configuration
Ensure a stable 220V power supply with proper earthing and weather-protected enclosures for humid barn environments.
